
More About Andy Wilkinson
Andy brings a range of skills to his projects from over 29 years of working in Education.
He has held a wide range of roles within the school, having been a Pastoral Head, Head of PE, Director of Sport, Director of Specialisms and is currently an Assistant Headteacher at Carre’s Grammar School.
He has played a key role in the way the school has developed into a thriving outward looking community use facility. For example, he led the school in its application to become a Sports College back in 2003, a High Performing Specialist School in 2008, a Football Foundation application in 2009 for over £625,000 and a Food Fitness & Sports Diploma application in 2010 worth over £1million.
Now in his SLT Assistant Headteacher role he has responsibility for Curriculum (including Options in Y9 & Y11), Line Management responsibilities for MFL, Geography, History, Careers, Art and Cover Manager plus playing a key role in the logistics of Covid provision for on-line and face to face provision.
Andy is currently Project Lead for the new site proposal for Carre's and KSHS to merge onto a £30million combined site on the outskirts of the town.
In the Opening Schools Facilities Programme 2021-22, Andy utilised his direct educational experience to help other Lincolnshire schools better understand the intrinsic links between curriculum and extra-curricular provision and the huge health benefits for pupils & community users.
Andy was able to talk directly to senior team counterparts within other Lincolnshire schools about the problems faced in opening up sports & leisure facilities and the proposed solutions.
Andy understands the balance required between educational and community needs, in order for school's facilities to be opened outside of school hours.
